Our History

Family Origins
Our history began as a family business, starting operations with the trading of commercial polyethylene bags in a 150 m² facility located in Santa Teresita, Jalisco. In January 1990, we established our first formal business address at this location.
The Leap into Manufacturing
We relocated to the Industrial Zone, occupying a 600 m² facility that integrated offices and a warehouse. This year marked a major milestone with the launch of in-house manufacturing using a converting machine, bringing the Suma Flex® brand to life. We diversified our portfolio with printed, disposable, and custom-sized bags for industrial applications.

Specialization and Industrial Growth
Seeking further growth, we moved to Prolongación Laureles onto a 900 m² property. We invested in advanced central impression technology and aligned our commercial strategy to serve the specialized needs of the food industry.

Foreign Trade and "La Bolsita"
Under the name GL Plásticos, we established ourselves at Nicolás Regules (1,200 m²). We entered a key foreign trade phase, importing raw materials and components. This period saw the birth of the business model centered on the "La Bolsita®" brand, consolidating our ability to manufacture and commercialize proprietary products.

Portfolio Expansion and Suma Creación
We expanded to Av. Colón (2,000 m²) to boost our operational and warehousing capacity. We began developing specialized products (side-seal, zipper, and high-vacuum bags) and launched Suma Creación®, focused on raw material distribution.

Consolidation of Business Units
We moved to CD. Granja (3,000 m²), expanding space for administrative offices and warehouses. During this period, we consolidated our 4 business units and professionalized raw material slitting and rewinding operations.
World-Class Infrastructure
We established our current headquarters at José María Pino Suárez (3,500 m²), featuring modern facilities and food-grade warehousing. In 2018, we expanded by an additional 2,500 m², reaching a total of 6,000 m². We integrated cutting-edge robotics for stackable cutlery manufacturing and launched leading brands such as Rino®, Suma Vac®, Plato Pack®, and Globos Rino®.

Institutionalization and Logistics Future
In 2019, the SUMA GLOBAL PACK® master project was formally established, unifying our history under a strategic, sustainability-focused direction. In 2025, we expanded our capabilities with a new logistics center in Colotlán Industrial Park to power Creación and Flex operations.

Family Origins
Our history began with Distribuidoras Castro hermanos. The family business started operations with the commercial polyethylene bag trade in a 150 m² space in Santa Teresita, Jalisco. In January 1990, we established our first formal business address at this location.
